When Fatboy Slim met DPPLGNGRS...Posted on 5:38pm Monday 5th Dec 2011
When FATBOY SLIM (a.k.a. Norman Cook, the Mighty Dub Kat, Mr. Zoe Ball, etc etc) visited Southend's Cliffs Pavillion as part of his 5 Night Stand tour, our fair seaside town was well and truly treated... The crowd showed just how much love there is for the Hawaiian-shirted Brighton institution; from teenage rave fiends, to thirty and forty somethings reclaiming the pieces of their minds that they left somewhere between the London orbital and Ibiza, somewhere in their youth... Hottwerk Records duo DPPLGNGRS had a pre-gig chat with the Fatboy himself (and also with Doorly, part 2 to follow soon) as the first of their Artist-on-artist series. They lovingly recorded the conversation for your listening pleasure..... Norman shares the love with Michelle and Tobias:
If the dancefloor decimation that Southend was treated with is anything to go by, next year's Big Beach Bootique at Brighton's AMEX Stadium is going to be COLOSSAL!
The hugest thanks to Norman Cook, Martin Doorly, Garry and Katy at Anglo Management for arranging the interview and supporting independent electronic artists and labels!!! |
